The American Trail Running Association (ATRA) has signed an agreement with The Running Event and its new owners Diversified Communications to provide content for the inaugural TRAILHEAD Stage at The Running Event (TRE) 2018 scheduled for November 27 to 30, in Austin, TX.
The TRAILHEAD Stage will be an interactive, educational area on the trade show floor devoted to the growing trail running category. The American Trail Running Association will manage three days of content which will feature presentations from top athletes, brands and retailers who will highlight opportunities around this growing, changing business.
“When The Running Event approached us about the TRAILHEAD Stage concept, we fully embraced the idea,” said ATRA’s executive director Nancy Hobbs. “We’re excited to tap into our expertise and connections in trail and provide a forum whereby timely topics can be showcased.”
Said Christina Henderson show director of The Running Event, “One of our main objectives each year at The Running Event is to highlight areas of business growth for our specialty retail attendees. The trail category has great upside for running stores and we believe the TRAILHEAD Stage will both educate and inspire them.”
The TRAILHEAD Stage will be open during trade show hours starting Wednesday afternoon. The first session will delve into research and data on trends and numbers and will feature results from ATRA’s annual survey and a qualitative point of view from ExpertVoice. The programming will continue on Thursday with informative 15-minute sessions featuring myriad topics relevant to trail running. Friday will feature inspiring videos as part of the content.
