For more than 50 years, Vasque footwear has provided product that inspires trust on the trail. In 2016, Vasque is excited to announce its sponsorship of all three trail associations whose trails are included in the Triple Crown of thru-hiking; the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), the Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC) and the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA).
As part of its partnerships with each of these associations, Vasque will supply footwear and monetary contributions to support efforts to keep the trails protected and maintained.
“People thru-hiking these epic trails is at an all-time high here in the USA,” states Vasque Director of Global Marketing, Joe Peters. “It is crucial that we support the non-profits that are protecting and maintaining the trails that so much of our Vasque footwear hikes and backpacks along. Additionally, we expanded our Thru-Hike Syndicate initiative to all three trails this year and wanted to give back to the trail associations that are making Syndicate members’ dreams a reality.”
Vasque’s partnership with the ATC includes supplying the rugged Eriksson GTX boot for the leaders of volunteer trail crew members up and down the Appalachian Trail and sponsoring vehicle operations, vans that are used by the trail crews to transfer volunteers between different sites and camps. As part of the partnership with the CDT, Vasque will be the Title Sponsor of the CDT Trail Days alongside being an Explorer Sponsor. Lastly, as a Tuolumne Meadows member of the PCTA, Vasque will be sponsoring and supplying footwear for the leaders of the Columbia Cascades Trail Skills College, April 22-24 in Cascade Locks, Ore.
