Active at Altitude, organizers of the US Trail Running Conference presented by Marathon Printing, have announced that Tim Tollefson will be the keynote speaker for the 2023 edition of the industry-leading event. The Conference celebrates its 11th anniversary this year and takes place on October 18-20 in Mukilteo, WA, for the second consecutive time in the Pacific Northwest.
Tim Tollefson
Tollefson is Founder and Head Crafter at Mammoth Trail Fest, a professional ultra-runner for Craft, and a physical therapist at the Mammoth SPORT Center. He is also a three-time USATF Trail Champion, winner of Javelina Jundred, Ultra Trail Australia, and Lavaredo, two-time US Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier, and the most successful American male at UTMB.
In 2022, Tollefson and a passionate group of partners started the Mammoth Trail Fest with the goal of creating the next generation of trail stewards and recreation enthusiasts, driving year-round thoughtful visitation to the area, and becoming an evergreen event for everyone on the trail running circuit.
Tim Tollefson comments: “It is with deep humility that I find myself both in attendance and speaking at the U.S. Trail Running Conference. For many years I watched at a distance as the event came and went, dreaming of taking part but being fearful as I assumed it was for people that knew what they were doing. One of the many lessons I learned in my first year as a race director was that inexperience can be a gift, a new perspective of sorts. I am eager to learn from our industry veterans, collaborate with up-and-comers, and share some of our own successes and failures from Mammoth Trail Fest.”

The US Trail Running Conference, presented by Marathon Printing, provides education, inspiration, and unique networking opportunities for trail race directors, trail runners, brands, and fans of the sport. The Conference is held in partnership with the Snohomish County Sports Commission and the American Trail Running Association.
