The American Trail Running Association (ATRA) celebrates trail running athletes at all levels of engagement and ability, and because the Trails Are For Every Body, each week we’re sharing the profiles of trail enthusiasts you might not otherwise know. If you’ve been enjoying these profiles, let us know! And if you’re an everyday trail running enthusiast who’d like to share your story with us, we’d love to hear from you, as well!

Meet Susan Yasuhara whose favorite trail activities include trail running in Colorado’s Roxborough State Park, surrounding areas, and almost any trail that has challenging climbs. She also loves mountain biking.

“Trail running allows me to explore off-the-beaten-paths in search of new discoveries and adventures. I research new locations to ensure I’m running safe and have the right gear with me in case I get lost or may run into adverse weather conditions. I almost always meet people on the trails who enjoy being outside as much as I do too!

“Being on the trails, whether biking, running, hiking or walking, is a great way to see new places, and it does wonders for my mental, physical and emotional health. It makes me happy and free!”

Thank you, Susan for sharing your trail love story with us!

If you’d like to share your trail love story, we want to hear from you!
