Suunto Unveils All-New Colors for Suunto Race Performance GPS Watch

The following release was provided by ATRA corporate member Suunto and features its race performance GPS watch now available in amethyst, midnight, and birch.

HELSINKI (Jan. 25, 2024)Suunto, a leader in design and innovation for sports watches, dive computers, compasses and digital services used by adventurers all over the globe, announced today that its celebrated Suunto Race watch will now come in three new styles – Amethyst Titanium, Midnight Steel and Birch Steel – bringing added variety for users who look for a pop of color.

All three new varieties of the Suunto Race watch offer the same product benefits as their sister models Suunto Race Charcoal in titanium, and Suunto Race All Black in stainless steel. Launched in October 2023, the Suunto Race watch is made for training and racing and comes with a large AMOLED display, sapphire crystal screen, innovative training features and free detailed offline maps. The design is carefully crafted and built for athletes who want to improve performance and challenge themselves. Suunto Race offers over 95 sports modes for training, racing, and the time in between.

The Suunto Race has proven wildly popular with users from around the world; Suunto Race users have tracked over 515,000 miles run, 220,000 miles cycled, 118 million feet climbed and recorded 247,000 hours of activity while wearing the watch.

In addition, the Suunto Race watch boasts an impressive battery life, lasting up to 40 hours when training non-stop with GPS tracking, and up to 26 days in daily mode. Both stainless steel and titanium variants of the Suunto Race family are tested to military standards and withstand weather conditions from -20° C to +55° C. The watch is also water resistant up to 100 meters.

Although black and dark colors are the most popular options when choosing a watch, the Suunto’s product development team observed a growing demand for different straps and watch designs to fit one’s style, and add a personal touch.

“In everyday life, I prefer simple colors. But when I’m doing sports, I like to be more flashy, because I feel more like [I’m] in race mode,” said trail runner Kimi Schreiber. “A little splash of color on the wrist motivates me to run fast.”

About Suunto

We stand for adventure. Pioneering exploration has been in our DNA since 1936, when Finnish orienteer Tuomas Vohlonen set out to create a more accurate compass, and subsequently invented a new method for manufacturing liquid‐filled compasses. Today Suunto is at the forefront of design and innovation for sports watches, dive computers, compasses and digital services used by adventurers all over the globe. We are proud that Suunto products can take a beating but are also designed with an everyday aesthetic that reflects our Nordic identity. Suunto’s headquarters and factory are still in Finland.
