Krissy Moehl Joins Ultimate Direction Athlete Team

Ultimate Direction, the leading brand in hydration and wearable gear innovations, is proud to announce top female ultrarunner and race director, Krissy Moehl, to its team of professional athletes for the 2016 season.

The brand’s new crew of sponsored athletes will include top runners Nikki Kimball, Ashley Erba, Jessie Young, Devon Yanko, Kristina Pattison, and Hillary Allen.

“We couldn’t be happier to add the expertise and knowledge of Krissy and this impressive group of runners to our athlete team,” said Marily Melis, Marketing Manager at Ultimate Direction. “Given the recent expansion of our Jenny Collection, the first-ever women’s specific hydration series, these women will be instrumental in sharing our brand as well as testing and developing our future line of vests, handhelds and wearable gear.”

About Krissy Moehl:

Krissy Moehl is a veteran in the ultra-scene, having run more than 100 races over her 15-year career and claiming 55 wins. In 2005 she became the youngest woman to complete the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning and in 2007 she set the women’s record for the Hardrock 100. Her ultramarathon wins have included 1st place female at the HURT 100 in 2007, Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in 2003 and 2009, and the Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji in 2013.

Most recently, Moehl set the women’s supported fastest known time of 47 hours, 29 minutes, for the 175-mile traverse of the Tahoe Rim Trail. Moehl has just penned her first book: Running Your First Ultra: Customizable Training Plans for your First 50k to 100 Mile Race.

Moehl joins an already stacked line up of highly decorated women and every day runners including Michele Yates, Gina Lucrezi, Larissa Dannis, Pam Smith and others. Additions to Ultimate Direction’s women’s crew of ambassadors will include:

Montana–based ultrarunner, Nikki Kimball, has run the Western States 100 Endurance Run ten times and was the first female finisher in 2004, 2006 and 2007. She won the Marathon Des Sables multi-stage on her first-attempt in 2014.

Ashley Erba is new to the sport of ultraunning but has won six 50km races since 2014. The Colorado-based runner was named the North American Continental Skyrunning Ultra Champion in 2015.

Jessie Young is Ultimate Direction’s first female Ski Mountaineering (Skimo) athlete. The Aspen native was crowned the USA Ski Mountaineering Campion in both the individual and team divisions in 2015.

California-based Devon Yanko recently secured her ticket to the 2016 Western States 100 by winning the Sean O’Brien 100k. She’s run more than 30 Marathons and 30 Ultras since 2006. Yanko is a 2012 and 2016 Olympic Trials marathoner.

Missoula’s Kristina Pattison is ranked among the top 50 female ultra runners in the world by the International Skyrunning Federation. In 2015, she finished 4th in the Skyrunning World Series and 2nd in the US Skyrunning Series for the ultra distance. She recently qualified for the 2016 US Mountain Running Team for the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships in Slovenia.

A Colorado native, Hillary Allen recently began running after commencing a graduate program in Neuroscience and Structural Biology. She was the first place finisher at the 2015 Speedgoat 50k and 2014 Flagstaff Sky Race 55K. Most recently she was the second female finisher at The Rut 50k in 2015.
