Short Distance Race – Friday
Today (Friday, November 15) the World Mountain Running Championships kick off in Villa La Angostura, Argentina with the short distance 14 km (750 meters of ascent & descent) race for senior athletes and 8 km (400 meters of ascent & descent) for juniors. Team USA will race 4 athletes in each category – senior women, senior men, junior women and junior men.

Junior Men: David Cardenas [20th], Tyman Smart [6th], Anthony Hancock [31st], Michael Hancock [26th]
Senior Women: Sam Lewis [29th], Kimber Mattox [17th], Grayson Murphy [1st], Kasie Enman [21st] – 5th Place Team
Senior Men: Joseph Gray [1st], Seth DeMoor [31st], Andy Wacker [21st], David Sinclair [12th] – TEAM SILVER MEDAL

Long Distance Race – Saturday
Saturday’s race is the 42 km World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships; a tough mountain, trail event with 2200 meters of ascent and descent. Team USA will put 5 women and 5 men on the start line.

Women: Dani Moreno [19th], Ashley Brasovan [16th], Rachel Drake [28th], Emily Schmitz [10th], Kasie Enman [29th] – 4th place team.
Men: Jim Walmsley [1st], Hayden Hawks [6th], Mario Mendoza [31st], David Sinclair [10th]. – Team Silver Medal.
