Courtesy of ATRA member BOA, we gave away several pairs of La Sportiva’s new Cyklon to see what our members think about these highly engineered and innovative trail running shoes. After her new shoes into the woods for a spin, New Jersey based trail runner Julie Sheaffer shared with us her impressions of the BOA powered shoes.

About the the Dynamic Cage™ built in to the shoes upper Sheaffer wrote “with other shoes I’ve tried, it sometimes felt like my foot was going in one direction and my shoe was not quite keeping up. With these shoes it felt more like dancing through the rocks in ballet slippers.”
Locked In
Sheaffer was also a fan of BOA’s L6 Dial writing “with the way that you can dial the laces in tiny increments, the way the laces are positioned on the shoes, and the suppleness of the uppers, the Cyklons fit like a glove and feel like part of my foot while also providing plenty of support. They also make you feel really light and fast, which is fun!”

Connected
The mud-ground tread, ideal for use on soft and muddy ground, is in ultra-grippy La Sportiva FriXion™ White compound. According to Sheaffer, “during my run it was hot, humid and muddy but I had plenty of traction in the slippery sections and didn’t feel like the soles were too stiff.”
