Better Together Scholarship Program for US Trail Running Conference Announced

ATRA has launched the Better Together Scholarship program to help under-funded and aspiring race directors attend the 12th annual US Trail Running Conference which will be held in Knoxville, TN, October 23-25. The Conference is presented by Marathon Printing, Inc.

The Better Together scholarship will provide six new or aspiring race directors funding to cover their travel and accommodation receipted costs up to a maximum of $1500 per recipient to attend the US Trail Running Conference. Registration costs for these six race directors will be covered by the Conference organizers.

Applications open on February 14 and will close on April 1. The winning applicants will be chosen by a selection committee and announced by April 15, 2024. Apply here.

Nancy Hobbs, ATRA executive director said, “Our board enthusiastically supported the creation of the 2024 Better Together scholarships. This is just one way ATRA can make a difference in our sport by offering opportunities for growth and engagement in the race directing community.”

US Trail Running Conference director Terry Chiplin said, “I am thrilled that ATRA have decided to create this incredible funding resource to help six race directors who would otherwise not have been able to attend this year’s Conference. This generous scholarship will help attract race directors or event organizers and give them the tools to start or accelerate their businesses. I applaud ATRA for taking this innovative approach.”
