All In Trail Collective Scholarship Applications Open

Joe McConaughy shares details about the All In Trail Collective Scholarship and program in the following announcement.

When I was in my early 20s, I was overwhelmed by the trail running world. Living in New England, the races that people talked about were generally far away and cost a lot of money. I struggled to figure out how to pace and fuel myself, but I stuck with it, got a lot better, and started working with other athletes. We started All In 3 years ago because it is tough for young trail runners to get into the sport and to help create a more inclusive, diverse space. In our 3rd year, we now have 9 coaches participated who excited to mentor younger athletes!

The All In Trail Collective is composed of 9 trail running coaches looking to develop the next generation of trail runners. We offer a 1:1 coaching scholarship for 18-20 athletes and a broader online community of 100+ young athletes interested in trail running. This scholarship is meant to support younger adult runners who are looking to develop into competitive trail, ultramarathon or Fastest Known Time-focused athletes.

Testimonial

Jarred Ervin was an All In Trail scholarship athlete in our first year, 2021. He had a great year of running, including running his first 50-mile race at JFK. The following year, he applied and was accepted into the Coaches of Color Initiative and went through a year of mentorship to become a coach. Now, Coach Jarred is joining our team of 9 coaches at All In Trail and he is heavily involved in his local running community and Black Men Run! We are excited for our 3rd year of coaching scholarships to have more stories like this.

How you can help

A challenging aspect of this program is to reach younger athletes and those from diverse backgrounds and to encourage them to apply. If you are interested in helping this initiative, please consider:
*Personally recommend this program to an individual who you believe you be a good fit.
*Share the coaching scholarship page with your local trail running community, ideally at an in-person event.
