Way Over Yonder Trail Run Series #2 – Xterra New Jersey

Marathon & Half Marathon Runners will compete to qualify for XTERRA Trail Run World Championships (Fall 2023 – Location TBD). XNJ runners (10K, Half & Marathon) will also earn points towards Way Over Yonder Trail Run Series Champion.

In celebration of the return of XTERRA to the Northeast, we’re including our super soft comfy XNJ Tshirt ($15 value) with all race entries. Make sure to sign up at least 4 weeks before the race to guarantee you get one and in your size.

The Half Marathon loop (which will be run 2x for the Marathon) starts with the Gravel loop that will be featured in Sunday’s Multisport events, and then feeds directly into the 10K loop. So we expect race times will be considerably faster than previous versions of Running The Beast that we’ve held at Wawayanda. There will be aid stations at 7 & 13 miles.

The 10K loop (ok more like 6.5 miles) will run along portions of majestic Wawayanda Lake for absolutely spectacular views. The course is rolling hills and there is not a killer fire tower type climb. The first 3 miles of the 10K is packed dirt with some rocks and roots before heading into 2.2 miles of rocky goodness with some more technical trails and then finishing on fire road and lake side sand.

The 4K loop is the one we’ve used for the past nine Wedneday Wonders Sprint Triathlons. This loop is not technical and suitable for al ages. The one true trail section of this loop is wide and grassy. It’s also being used in the Sprint Triathlon taht wil b eheld on Sunday.

All courses will be well marked with Arrow Signage. Loops subject to change based on trail conditions.
