What is Sacred Mountains?
The Navajo traditional boundaries of the Dinetah are marked by four sacred peaks. They are Blanca Peak to the East near Alamosa, CO, Mount Taylor to the South near Grants, NM, the San Francisco Peaks to the West near Flagstaff, AZ, and Hesperus Peak to the North near Durango, CO.
Culturally the four directions been used as guidance to find signs of life in the first world, evolving by stories of the becoming of Navajo Dine’ people in todays 4th world the land marks of the mountains become the sacred peaks and by Dine’ name in culture used in prayer ceremonies.

Why of the event, Sacred Mtns
The journey of the challenge is yet to be discovered. To be connected or to reconnect with oneself to continue to move forward in life, positively helping yourself with the medicine of running, biking or hiking. In the duration of the 6 weeks of this challenge the sacred mountains will help oneself journey through virtual ascent up the teachings of the mountains.
