VIRTUAL RACE – Co-Virtual 19 Miler

Description: April 1-30. COVID-19 has caused an unimaginable amount of disruption to our daily lives, and running events are no exception. In Oklahoma there were some great events lined up for April, including the Muskogee Run 15k and the 20th OKC Memorial Marathon. With April being such an amazing time of year and since running by yourself is not discouraged, I:40 Race Service is hosting a month long virtual run event: CO-VIRTUAL 19 Miler. Here is how it works: CO-VIRTUAL 19 Miler Rules: - You have the entire month of April to run the 19 miles. You can break it down into as many runs as you want to. They just need to add up to 19 miles. So it can be done in any form or fashion: Walking a mile a day for 19 days, running six 5ks plus a little extra, or knocking it all out in one session if you so desire. - You will report back to us that you have ran the 19 miles, by emailing us at the end of your 19 miles. Preferred method is sending pictures or screen shots of your watch or phone, or a picture of some form of logbook. Send emails to: [email protected]. We will be pretty relaxed here, so just make sure you get in the 19 miles and that you send something to confirm you did. - No Treadmills Allowed – We are cooped up inside way too much right now and it is too nice out! Registration fee: $25 - You can sign up any time during the month of April, but longer you wait the less time you have to get it done! $20 - Kids Registration (12 & Under) Medals You are not keeping your time, just your added up distance of 19 miles. Here is how we are awarding the medals: Finish the 19 miles by April 12th – You get a Gold medal Finish April 13 to 23 – You get a Silver Medal Finish April 24 to 30 – You get a Bronze Medal Shorts (??? Yes...Shorts!): Along with your medal we will be mailing you a pair of shorts. I've never heard of a run that had shorts as the giveaway instead of shirts, so you are part of this experiment! There is a women's and men's cut, so hopefully this works for you. Packet Mailing: S&H included in your registration. No in person pick up (COVID caution) and all the packets will be mailed out on Monday, May 4th. CO-VIRTUAL 19 Miler Cause: On June 13th, the 3rd annual Okies Against ALS 5k will happen at Hatbox Park in Muskogee, OK. We are putting 20% of the proceeds form this event to that fundraising effort, which goes to ALS Patient Service Outreach (APSO) who directly serves ALS patients and their family. Any Extra that you donate at check out will go 100% to the APSO. Okie's Against ALS 5k Add On: At check out, you will have an option of adding a registration to the Okie’s against ALS 5k on June 13th, for discounted rate of only $20. You info will carry over into that event.
