This moderately challenging 12k & 30K races take place on a beautiful stretch of the Thunderbolt Creek & Continental Divide Trail’s (CDT) west of Basin, Montana. The 30k includes a lollipop loop with and out-and back segment to the top of Thunderbolt Mountain. The 12k course does an out-and-back on the Thunderbolt Creek Trail up to gorgeous Cottonwood lake and back to the trailhead. Both courses cross a few small creeks.
The 30k course has approximately 3,200 feet of elevation gain, while the 12k has about 1000 feet of climb. Seasoned runners may have PR opportunities here, first-time 12k & 30k runners will enjoy the laid-back attitude, and everyone will love the scenery. This one is a must for your summer race calendar!
