The Widow Maker Ultra and Whisky Still 5K

Revolution Running is excited to announce that the Widow Maker Ultra and Whisky Still 5k is back for 2023! This race is held at Sprewell Bluff Park in Thomaston, Ga which is just 50 miles south of Atlanta. Sprewell Bluff Park is one of the most beautiful and best kept secrets in Georgia. It features the gently flowing Flint River that meanders thru steep Rocky Bluffs. When you see the magnificent views from the bluffs you won’t believe you are in South Georgia. Proceeds to benefit Sprewell Bluff Park!

Sunrise to Sunset Ultra Marathon
Whoever can run the most loops of The Widow Maker Trail from 7:40 AM (Sunrise) to 7:50 PM (Sunset) wins the race! Run as many loops as you can until The Widow Maker has you begging for mercy. This trail is a mostly single track 6 mile loop and has some very steep and technical sections. Although this trail is beautiful most of you will want to quit after just one loop.

Whisky Still 5k
If running from Sunrise to Sunset scares you then you can choose the 5k option. The 5k is just as beautiful and winds along the Flint River on single track trails and runs by an old whisky still. The 5k will begin at 8 am.

Parking
There is plenty of parking at the park. Please be prepared to pay the 5$ parking pass. This is not included in the race fee.

Swag
Awards will be given to the top male and female in both the Sunrise to Sunset and 5k options. Top male and female in each race will receive a whisky jug. All runners in the ultra marathon will receive a unique mason jar. All 5k finishers will receive a unique shot glass. All runners will receive a race t-shirt. ***You must sign up by March 3 to be guaranteed a t-shirt***

Aid Station
There will be an aid station at the start/finish of the loop that will have all the usual fare. Food, water, and electrolytes.
