Swamp Creek Stomp 5K Trail Run

Description:

The trail flows through two park sections of approximately 100 acres, Bob Wayland Memorial Park and Constable Charles Spellhoffer Memorial Park at Swamp Creek. This is not a typical boring 5K, it is always a Blast! It has some muddy areas, some technical areas, several creek crossings, some short hills, tree roots, logs, vines, some open fields, beautiful scenery and lots of fun. The run starts out with some open field to spread everyone out. Then you hit a little bit of mud, but don’t worry, it will get washed off as you Stomp thru the Swamp Creek. It gets a little technical as you run along the the “Old Mill Race” then back thru the Swamp Creek. You run thru some open area at Constable Charles Spellhoffer Memorial Park at Swamp Creek, then hit some more woods. After crossing the “Dirt Road” it gets a little technical again as you head toward the “Tunnel of Pines” and make a quick decent to another stream crossing. Some short hills and the “Twisted Tree” let you know the end is near. As you break out of the woods you will find some open area to sprint before the finish line at the top of the hill!
