On 11 September 2021 the race takes 1000 athletes through the stunning scenery of the Sesto Dolomites to the finish at the Rifugio Antonio Locatelli S. Innerkofler just below the three world famous peaks. This is what makes it one of the most beautiful mountain runs in the world. With a distance of 17 km and an altitude differential of 1,330 m it demands a high level of fitness.
Since 2007 the run has been taking place on the original route, a 17 km long route through beautiful landscape covering an altitude differential of 1,350 metres. From Forcella Pian di Cengia the route winds downhill for a short stretch before rising to the Rifugio Locatelli directly above the Laghi dei Piani.
