Join us for the Snake Run where everyone has the same finishing time. You run as many loops as you can in Six or Three Hours.
The Snake Run at Lubell Park is single two-mile loop on Mary’s Loop. After each loop you will pass through the start/finish area which is full of volunteers, spectators, and plenty of food and drink.
Participants run as many of these loops as they can in six or three hours. The longest distance wins. If people have the same distance the win goes to the person who finished the last loop first. Only fully completed laps are counted – no partial credit if you are on the course at the end.
There is only the 2-mile loop. Runners must complete the full loop and pass through the finish line arch for credit.
You can run any number of loops to complete the challenge of the Snake Run, for example:
- One loop (2 miles) and have a hamburger and beer while you cheer on the other participants. You still go home with a finisher’s medal.
- Two loops (4 miles) and have a longish 5K under your belt.
- Seven loops for a slightly longer-than-normal Half-Marathon (14 miles)
- Eight loops for a 25km (plus change)
- 14 loops for an official Full Marathon with an ultramarathon kicker (28 miles)
- 17 loops for a plus sized 50K
