Description: Save the Daylight has a race for everyone. It’s early in the season but training has already begun for those that raced John Holmes or Gate2Gate, or are training for the Caloosahatchee Ultra and Ancient Oaks in December. We have a race to meet everyone’s needs with 4 start times of the 6 hour race, a day 12 hour and a night 12 hour for those that need a legitimate night trail training run as well the 24 and 48 hour races for the real go-getters. All entrants will receive a custom finishers medal and unique finishers certificate with distance and photograph printed. Runner meeting minimum distances in their respective race will receive a custom beer/soda glass. Any runner that surpasses 100 miles will receive a personalized and distance engraved belt buckle. Minimum distances for custom glass are as follows: 6 hour-19.8 miles (6 laps), 12 hour-39.6 miles (12 laps), 24/48 hours-62.7 miles (19 laps). Entry fees will be $65 for 6 hours, $85 for 12 hours, $125 for 24 hours and $200 for 48 hours. Rates will increase to $75/100/145/225, respectively after September 30th. Note that this race takes place during daylight savings time so at 2am the clock will fall back to 1am and the races will end at 8am. Course Description Course will be run on a very fast, flat shell packed trail at 3.3 miles long. The beginning of each lap will pass by your cars to crew out of as well as a bathroom. Start/Finish line will be held under a pavilion to place drop bags. Fully stocked Aid Station will be under pavilion as well. Lodging Sun Coast Inn worked out as a great location for many runners last year. Give them a call at 941-475-6533 and check out their website. They are only 3 miles from the race. Schedule 24 Hour Race Starts Saturday, November 2 at 9am 12 Hour Options, Saturday start times 12 Hour Day 9am-9pm 12 Hour Night 9pm-8am 6 Hour Options, Saturday start times 6 Hour A 9am-3pm 6 Hour B 3pm-9pm 6 Hour C 9pm-2am (after daylight savings time) 6 Hour D, Sunday after Midnight 2am (after daylight savings time)-8am 48 Hour Race The 48 Hour Race will start Friday, November 1, 2019 at 9am. There will be 3 buckles available. Runners that surpass 100 miles before 24 hours but do not reach 150 will receive the sub 24 buckle. Runners that take between 24 and 48 hours to hit 100 miles will get a slightly smaller buckle with a 48 on it. Lastly, runners that complete 150 miles or more will receive a larger full color buckle. Due to cost of creating a mold and purchasing only a few buckles, a 200 mile buckle will not be created at this time. By all means, put us on the spot and run 200, we will make you a buckle at that point!
