Description: The Savannah Grit is a four part stage race with stages taking place in different locations in and around the greater Savannah, Ga area. Each stage takes place on a unique trail with it’s own challenges. The mileage for each stage varies greatly. The 2016 race will challenge runners with a total 107.5 miles in four stages. Just as the venue for the Savannah Grit will change from year to year so will the Grit buckle! The 2016 theme for the Grit is: Release the Kraken! The 2016 Grit may be 2 miles less than the 2015 race but don’t let that make you think it will be easier. to Set the Kraken Free will require a lot of sweat, blood and tears. This race is not for your average neighborhood weekend warrior. Your buckle won’t come easy! The stage breakdown for the 2016 Grit is: Stage 1, day 1: 50 miles at Skidaway State Park, 6.2 mile loop x8. Stage 2, day 2: 25.5 miles at McQueen’s Island Trail, 12.79 mile out & back x2.
