Description: Rumble in the Jungle features the highlights of the Coffs Harbour hinterland with waterfalls, lookouts and dense rainforest to explore. The run takes place in the stunning Bindarri National Park – Coffs Harbour’s premier running destination – with the four courses carefully crafted to showcase the best trails of the region. You will be running through a unique and special area. Bindarri National Park is listed as an ‘Asset of Intergenerational Significance’, known for its priority koala habitat and forms a conservation corridor between New England Tableland and the Great Escarpment, linking vegetation corridors from the plateau to the coast. Rumble in the Jungle is named as 50km runners cross the crystal clear ‘Urumbilum’ River and visit ‘Urumbilum’ Falls and Bindarri National Park is a dense rainforest jungle. Rumble in the Jungle starts and finishes at Eastern Dorrigo Community Hall at 13 Pine Avenue, Ulong. Eastern Dorrigo Community Hall is a 1 hour sealed drive from Coffs Harbour or a 45 minute unsealed drive from Dorrigo. Ulong is the ‘Village in the Valley’ and sits on the Eastern Dorrigo Plateau at 520m AHD with temperatures typically ranging from 5-15 degrees in August. Eastern Dorrigo Community Hall contains parking, event registration, free camping, a large hall to store equipment and bags, free Wi-Fi, phone reception, flush toilets, one hot shower, children’s playground, BBQ, picnic tables, and a full kitchen with fridge stove, microwave, sink and crockery.
