Mt. Tom Snowshoe Scramble

Description:

This’ll be a fun day – regardless of whether we have snow (to snowshoe) or end up just trail running instead! Low key running – no real prizes, no t-shirts, no frills, just fun. We’ll have a few munchies at the end of the race, but feel free to bring something to share (in true snowshoe racing tradition).

No need to tell us the distance you’ll run – decide as you go whether you want to stop at one lap (of 5k-ish) or head out for a second loop of the course (for 10k-ish total).

We will have loaner snowshoes available provided by the amazing folks at Dion Snowshoes. But, we are also asking everyone to help out – if you have a spare pair or two, please bring them so someone else can use them. And if you need a pair, let us know so we can try to manage (or scrounge up a few more pair). If you are borrowing a pair of the Dion loaners, the rental fee is $5 and will be collected at the event.

The DCR Mt. Tom park gates open at 8:00am, so registration will start at 8:15am. There will be day-of registration available, fee will be $25 (so just sign-up early and save yourself a few bucks).

Team Competition is on! We’ll add up the fastest 4 participants from your team or club (using their 5k time/split). Just be sure to have folks sign up under the same team/club name – this can be official teams/clubs, or just a group of friends. Bragging rights to the fastest team (and likely a giant cookie to share)!
