Don’t Fall on Your Aspen 5K

Description:

Come take on a 5k through the beautiful Nordic Center while keeping an eye out for the Mogollon Monster lurking in the Aspens. This will be a twilight run so don’t forget a headlamp! Personal illumination is required for the race. Make sure to stick around after the race to hang around a campfire with a cold one, swapping stories of your near-run-in with Mogey.

This event is created for the whole family to enjoy. Running or not, we’ll have plenty of post-race activities like bobbing for apples, corn hole, spike ball, and even providing everyone with all the right ingredients to cook up a perfect s’more.

Runners of all fitness levels will get the chance to run amongst the fall colors (and to experience a rare Mogollon Monster sighting!) at Arizona Nordic Village in Flagstaff, AZ on Friday, October 26th during Run Flagstaff and Arizona Nordic Village’s “Don’t Fall on Your Aspen 5K.” The event will take place at Arizona Nordic Village, 8 miles past Snowbowl Road up Highway 180 at 6 p.m., with post-run games and campfire beginning at 7:15 p.m. The race starts at twilight so runners are required to have a headlamp or flashlight to safely navigate the trails.

After participants have made their way through the aspen trees at Arizona Nordic Village, runners and their families will be treated to other festive fall activities such as bobbing for apples, corn hole, spike ball, lasso practice, ladder ball, and a campfire with all the materials for s’mores provided.

Though this is their first time hosting this event, Arizona Nordic Village and Run Flagstaff hope to see over 200 runners, including their families, participating.
