Dirty Spokes Little Mulberry Park Trail Runs

Sep 09, 2023 at 8:30 AM

3855 Fence Road, Dacula GA, 30019, USA

This is great off–road running experience. The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´. Nestled in the woods of Northeast Ga lies a true gem. The well groomed system of trails and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn´t, the 6.2 or 3.1 will). Once you descend into the woods, you will forget you´re in the city.

As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed ´Ditch the City´. Both distances will start on the “Fence Road” side of the park (behind the covered pavillion and next to the restrooms). The race will start out heading clockwise around the “West Meadow Trail” (up the asphalt trail about .45) to the “Cross Country” Trail. Turn Right onto the Cross Country Trail (it´s firm and fast; hard packed grass surface), stay on the West Meadow Trail then crossing over to the East Meadow Trail through the pines and off road (grass running surface ⁄ true cross country trail). Staying to the right (using the Cross Country Trail), in a counter clockwise direction. When you get to mile 2.3 on the Cross Country Trail the 10K Runners will go hard right onto the East Mulberry Trail (East Mulberry Trail is a hiking ⁄ horseback trail ⁄ 4–6 feet wide easy to navigate ⁄ minimal rocks and roots ⁄ true dirt).

The 5K Runners will stay on the East Meadow Trail ⁄ Cross Country Trail back over to the West Meadow Trail ⁄ Cross Country Trail… 10K Runners continue on the East Mulberry Trail (counter clockwise direction) when you get to the bottom of the East Mulberry Trail you will intersect with the Carriage Trail. On the Carriage Trail you will turn hard left onto the asphalt (about 20 yards), cross over a wooden bridge go 5 yards then hard right back onto the East Mulberry Trail (dirt trail), staying in a counter clockwise direction all the way back around you will cross the Carriage Trail headed back up towards the East Meadow Trail… once you get back to the East Meadow Trail you will turn hard right back onto the Cross Country Trail crossing over to the West Meadow Trail and towards the finish line!
