Description:
Like it’s sister races, the Orcas Island 25K and 50K, this 100.8 mile loop course offers steep singletrack, rolling terrain around mountain lakes, fun and fast downhill sections through old-growth forest and sweeping views of the Salish Sea and the San Juan Islands. With ~26,000 feet of elevation gain (and equal loss), it’s as tough as it is beautiful.
Runners will complete four 25.2-mile loops, each loop with five fully stocked aid stations. There is a 36-hour overall time limit, and cut-off times enforced throughout the last loop. There will be local beer, live bluegrass music and handmade pizza at the finish line!
This race is quickly gaining a reputation as being a low key, intimate race with a grass roots feel. The race has the majority of the same aid station volunteers back from previous years and due to the loop course, runners and volunteers get to know each other well. We also offer a free pasta dinner on Thursday during the mandatory pre-race briefing and an awards ceremony on Sunday at the local theater in Eastsound which means tons of group bonding time!
$315 (plus applicable fees) until August 1st, 2022
$355 (plus applicable fees) until the race sells out
All prices include one of the best 100-mile courses in the country, a one-of-a-kind screen-printed thrift store shirt, finisher awards including a handmade, solid brass belt buckle, a low-key post-race party (featuring homemade food and beer), as well as a post race awards ceremony with coffee and pastries on Sunday morning.
Our general Rainshadow Race Rules live here.
All entries are non-transferable to other runners. No exceptions and no deferments.
No Rainshadow volunteer and/or transfer credits or other codes or coupons of any kind can be applied to Orcas 100 registration.
