“If you’ve ever felt like trail or ultrarunning wasn’t ‘for you,’ if you’re hungry to learn, grow, and be supported by a community that sees you fully—this program is worth applying for.” —All In Scholarship coach Jarred Irvin
Now entering its fifth year, The All In Trail Scholarship will offer more opportunities in 2026 to increase diversity in trail running and mentor young athletes. Founded by Joe McConaughy, Cocodona 250 Champion, running coach and professional athlete sponsored by Brooks Running, the All In Trail Scholarship has expanded to include a wider range of coaches, sponsors and offerings for the selected scholarship athletes.
The mission statement for the scholarship is as follows: “The All In Trail Scholarship exists to support the next generation of trail runners by offering coaching, mentorship, and community to promising young athletes, especially those from marginalized or underserved backgrounds.”
Athletes aged 20-29 (and residents of US, Canada or Mexico) can apply for the scholarship between December 4, 2024, and January 4, 2026. Read more about the application process here.

What does the scholarship offer?
In 2026, sixteen to twenty athletes will be selected for the All In Trail Scholarship and will receive one-on-one coaching for one year. Athletes will be paired with one of the program’s nine coaches, Jess Schnier, Jarred Ervin, Rachel Spaulding, Parker Farabee, Danielle Snyder, Ryan Miller, Corinne Malcolm, Lindsey McDonald, and Joe McConaughy. Both Malcolm and Farabee are new to this year’s coaching lineup, bringing new perspectives and experiences to the team of well-respected coaches and athletes.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Corrine Malcolm and Parker Farabee to the All In coaching team,” says All In Scholarship coach Schnier, “The addition of these two incredible coaches feels like a huge step forward for the program. Corrine’s depth of experience as a coach, athlete, and voice in trail running brings a powerful perspective, while Parker’s background as a physical therapist strengthens our commitment to long-term, healthy athlete development.”
Farabee expresses his excitement joining the team, “I am most excited to connect with other amazing coaches and help grow the sport. I can’t think of a better way to support the next generation of trail runners than by giving them the tools and structure to be successful.”
Malcolm similarly shares her thoughts on becoming a coach for the All In Scholarship, “I’m excited to join the team behind All In in 2026 because it takes a community initiative to a level I couldn’t do on my own. I’ve worked with scholarship athletes over the past decade through my own coaching practice, but the holistic team approach means the athletes don’t just have me in their corner, they have a community (a team) in their corner.”
In addition to free coaching (valued at $2,400) athletes will have comped or free race entry fees, swag and gear from All In Scholarship sponsors, nutrition and injury prevention support, gear and equipment guidance, optional strength training guidance, and much more. In prior years, sponsors have included brands and race series such as Brooks, Injinji, Daybreak Racing, and Aravaipa Running.

2025 dream team
In the past five years, the scholarship aided in mentoring athletes from a wide range of backgrounds to reach their trail running goals—2025 was no exception. In 2025, nineteen athletes were selected from across the country and aided by their respective coaches to achieve their goals. Goals included finishing a first 100 mile race, participating in the Sky Running Series, learning to “fast pack,” and much more.

A scholarship like no other
With the continued expansion of opportunities for young trail runners in 2026 and beyond, The All In Scholarship program remains one of the most unique and rewarding scholarships in the sport. Jessica Schnier, All In Scholarship and Smiles and Miles running coach, said about the scholarship’s place in the wide world of opportunities for young athletes, “We’re certainly inspired by what others are doing and it’s exciting to see the many groups out there. We love taking in new ideas from others while holding true to our core values…making trail running more accessible to all types of people.”

All In Scholarship recipient turned All In coach, Jarred Irvin, encourages young athletes to apply for the scholarship, even if they feel they aren’t quite ready, “You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need curiosity and the willingness to try…If running has taught me anything, it’s that belonging isn’t something you wait for, you build it, one step at a time.”
