The following review was written by Anita Ortiz and features the H20 Audio TRI2 Pro. Anita has been running on trails for over 40 years and her race resume spans from 5k trails to 100 mile ultras and includes numerous USATF championship titles and team USA medals. The first time I listened to music while running I was using a Sport Walkman. Maybe you remember it. The yellow one, with the plug- in headphones?
Then came the Discman – made for runners and guaranteed not to not skip while playing your CDs. And we believed this would work?
Next was the RIO mp3, the IPod 2G, the Shuffle, the Touch, the Motorola RAZR, and finally the ‘modern day’ cell phone. Nowadays it seems everyone is using a cell phone while recreating. But SHOULD they be??
Consider the H20 TRI2 Pro
It’s time to consider the H2O TRI2 Pro headphones and leave your cell at home. This product provides an amazing sound experience that has everything your phone has, and more.

Right out of the box you get a firm-sided and zippered carrying case. I liked this immediately, as I am always stuffing my headphones somewhere and the breakage risk is high. Sure, this may take up a bit more room in your bag, but it also protects the bone conduction headphones inside the case.
Bone Conduction
Bone conduction, you ask? Yep! If you’ve not tried this type of headphone, grab yourself a pair of H20 Audio TRI2 Pro. These headphones don’t go into your ear, rather they rest over your ears and fit near the cheek bone. The sound gets into your head through the bones of your skull, rather than sending sound waves through the air, into your ear canal. Bone conduction has become quite popular with runners, allowing for outside awareness in all situations since the ear doesn’t have something stuffed inside.

Enjoying H20 audio while pool running.
H20 Audio’s bone conductors are not the only ones out there. There are quite a few brands to choose from. But the H2O Audio TRI2 Pro is a notch above. First off, they are waterproof…100% waterproof. Not water resistant, but WATERPROOF. The H2O Audio has designed their product to withstand submersion to 12’/3.6m underwater for an unlimited amount of time. Not only does this mean waterproof on rainy runs, snowy runs, and sweaty runs; but also in the pool, on a surf board, pedaling a bicycle, even singing in the bathtub. So for all you runners who crosstrain and the triathletes out there, the TRI2 Pro is made for you!
Built-in MP3 player
Another feature worth mentioning is the built-in MP3 player. It may take a little time to load the player’s 8GB of storage, but then you can leave your phone behind. Approximately 2,000 songs can be loaded and organized to your liking. Not to worry if you are a Spotify user. Your playlist can be downloaded also. In addition, there is bluetooth connectivity with the push of a button.
Sound quality
While earbuds may boast great clarity and an isolated listening experience, H2O Audio has worked to enhance sound quality in the TRI2 lineup. Their bone conduction headphones have slimmer speakers which have been enhanced to provide amazing sound in and out of water – still allowing full situational awareness. After all, don’t we want to be polite and safe practicing our sport, without having to ditch our music?

H20 in the sauna.
I run and crosstrain 4+ hours a day; rain, sleet, snow, or sunshine. I love the H20 Audio Tri2 Pro headphones in all of these conditions. I love the open ear bone conduction for safety. I love the waterproof feature. I love that I can download music and leave my phone behind. I love that these headphones will play for up to 9 hours without needing a charge. But, honestly more than anything, I love that I can even take the TRI2 Pro into the steam room and sauna AFTER the workout!
