The ERS is excited to officially announce the addition of a new “Winter” trail running series located in San Diego, CA. The new trail series is called the “Sunshine Series”, and will see a total of 5 events on the schedule from September 2017- March 2018.
The first of the 5 events kicked off last weekend on September 9th, with the Carmel Valley Trail 15K, 10K, and 5K, This is a 4th Annaul event that has become widely known as San Diego’s Toughest 5K. The other trail races in the series, are events that ERS owner and race director, Jeff Stoner, had started up separately from the ERS brand. Each of these events focuses on the half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances.
“I started up the races in San Diego about 4 years ago, knowing that eventually I would want to create a “sister series” to what we currently have going on in Colorado. It took us a few years to get the right events in place, but we finally were able and ready to make the connection”, said Stoner.
Events on the 2017-2018 schedule include:
- Sept 9 – Carmel Valley Trail 15K, 10K, 5K
- Oct 21 – Black Mountain Half Marathon and 10K
- Dec 10 – Del Dios Half Marathon, 10K, 5K
- Feb 17 – San Pasqual Valley Half Mararthon and 10K
- March 10 – Coast to Crest 10K and 5K
The addition of the new series will allow for more registration options in 2018. Besides individual race registration, the ERS will once again offer their popular Season Pass for CO events only, but will also include Season Pass options for CA only events, AND the Ultimate Season Pass, which will allow runners to select any 10 races between the 2 locations.
The Endurance Race Series has redesigned their website to include information on both series.
