About The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run:
Every July the Hardrock Hundred Endurance Run is held in the scenic, yet rugged San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. Beginning in 1992, The Hardrock Hundred Endurance Run remains to this day, dedicated to memory of those hardrock miners who made their living within the San Juan Mountains and connects the historic mining towns of Silverton, Ouray, Telluride and Lake City.

The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run is an ultramarathon of 100.5 miles in length, plus 33,992 feet of climb and 33,992 feet of descent for a total elevation change of 67,984 feet, at an average elevation of over 11,000 feet. The race is held on a loop course on 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross country in Southern Colorado’s San Juan Range, USA. This course offers a graduate level challenge for endurance runs. The course is designed to provide extreme challenges in altitude, steepness, and remoteness. Mountaineering, wilderness survival and wilderness navigation skills are as important in this event as your endurance.

About Altra Footwear:
Altra was created by founder Golden Harper and co-founders Brian Beckstead and Jeremy Howlett in 2011 in Orem, Utah.

The shoe’s unique FootShape™ toe box and Zero Drop™ sole was an immediate hit with the ultra-running community, who necessarily spend continuous hours on their feet. In fact, the origin of the name Altra was inspired by the trail shoes founder Harper “altered for ultra” running friends.

In just a little more than 4 years, Altra has catapulted to the third largest trail shoe brand in the Run Specialty channel and now has the 3 of the top 10 selling shoes in the industry, according to research from NPD. Altra’s Hardrock-ready shoes include the Superior, Lone Peak, and Olympus models, and all have Altra’s unique Gaiter Trap™ system to keep out those San Juan rocks!

Altra’s distinctive shoes have been award-winners from the beginning, when the Altra Instinct, the brand’s very first shoe, won Best Debut from Runner’s World. Altra’s shoes have won Editor’s Choice from Runner’s World, Trail Runner, Competitor and garnered rave reviews from Outside, Women’s Running, Women’s Health, SELF, and running websites around the world.
