Yankee Springs Winter Challenge

Course Description. There will be a 10k loop and a 25k loop. 50k runners will run the 25k loop twice. 50 mile runners will run out to the first aid station and back, and then do the 25k loop 3 times. Course marking update: We went out New Years Day morning to mark the course and found the ground too frozen to plant flags, so we ribbon tied to trees. The entire 25k course is marked with pink ribbon. Where the courses split the 10k section is marked with orange ribbon. Signs also mark where the courses split and some key intersections. The trails at Yankee Springs are quite hilly and have their share of rocks and roots to dance around. We do not know what Michigan weather will bring. There will probably be some snow, but it will probably be fairly well packed down. You don’t have to worry about a lot of mud because these trails are quite sandy and drain well.
