Description: The run segments are partly on paved roads, and partly run on a dirt trail in a wooded area. The bike segment is on paved roads. The course is located in the scenic town of Walpack in the Delaware Watergap National Recreation Area. The first 6K run starts from the Walpack Inn and heads south on Walpack Flatbrook Rd. After heading up Pompey Rd. the course turns right onto a dirt road that has been reclaimed in many locations by the trail team. A challenging run with elevation changes of over 270 ft, you will run for several Kilometers without seeing a house. After returning to the Walpack Inn, the bike 21k section takes you through the lower Walpack section to the town of Flatbrookville almost forgotten in time. Great views of the Delaware river and Flatbrook line this section where you will climb several hills along the way (see elevation map below). The course wraps up on the great lawn at the Walpack Inn with the final 2K section which is relatively flat.
