Description:

Runners will begin their 100 mile adventure as the sun rises over the La Sals, illuminating the beauty of the desert below! Following red arrows, runners will make a single clockwise Pinhook loop before continuing north along the world class UPS trail to the Porcupine Rim Aid Station. Continue to follow the red arrows to the Jimmy Keen Aid Station and then on to the Hazardous Aid Station. This is the beginning of the Mann’s Peak climb to the highest point in the race at 12,272′! The views from the top will definitely be worth the steep climb! The course continues down beautiful Burro Pass to the Geyser Aid Station. The out-and-back along Geyser Road is a fast and flat eight miles! From the Geyser Aid Station, runners will continue to follow the red arrows back to the Hazardous Aid Station. The steep climb out of the aid station to the top of Gold Knob is challenging but rewarding! The descent down Miners Basin to the Miners Aid Station is rocky and will challenge runners’ technical running abilities! At this point, runners have completed 57 amazing miles of the red loop. From here, runners will follow the green arrows for a counter-clockwise Pinhook loop. Once the double Pinhook loop is completed, runners will follow the pink arrows back up Miners Basin on a 31 mile clockwise loop from Miners to Hazardous to Jimmy Keen to Porcupine Rim aid stations and finally to the finish line!
