Starting at the Bates Canyon Trailhead gate (4,580′), head east up the Bates Canyon Rd for about 0.6 miles, climbing to 4,840′. Get ready for a real grind of a hill; you’ll climb up to 5,080′ in just 0.3 miles! Follow the road another 0.4 miles east as it rolls up and down until you reach the high point of the course (5,260′). Make a sharp left hairpin turn and fly down the wooded single-track, descending 0.8 miles and 420′ until you rejoin Bates Canyon Rd. Continue westward for the last .06 miles until you arrive at the finish line.

For the even loops, you will climb the wooded single-track trail and descend the rolling, steep Bates Canyon Rd.

The course will be marked with red flagging and ribbons.
