Trailhead Get Jerky Devil’s Staircase Ultra Trail Race
The Square, Llanwrtyd Weels, Llanwrtyd Wells , United Kingdom
This ultra race takes place in the Cambrian Mountain area. The race starts at Llanwrtyd Wells in Mid-Wales and travels through a spectacular landscape which includes the Abergwesyn Valley (one of the most beautiful in Wales), the 25% Iconic Devil’s Staircase, Soar y Mynydd Chapel ( the most remote in Wales), Lynn Brianne reservoir and near the end the 11th century St David’s church. The race has some short road sections, but is mostly off-road on trails and there are two fords to cross. Last year many runners commented that it was the best marshalled and marked route they had ever done. Yes, the route has over 49 marshals and is comprehensively marked with direction arrows, allowing the runners to concentrate on running and enjoying the stunningly beautiful route. All runners receive a unique Devil medal and free food at the Neuadd Arms in Llanwrtyd Wells.
