The Great Scorpion Trail Race

The 9th Great Scorpion Trail Run saw records fall in the 50K Men and Women’s divisions and the King of the Loop record was re-written as well. Year 10 is already coming up in 2027 and we can’t wait to celebrate a decade with you of this incredible race that has meant so much to us, our community and our benefactor, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. We hope you will join us in Meridian, MS on January 9th, 2027 at Bonita Lakes Park . Choose from either the 50K, 25K or 12.5K, but come be a part of this amazing race. The Course
A great mix of Single Track and Jeep Trail. The Great Scorpion Trail Run will offer roots, rocks and hills to challenge you, while the views through the trees of Bonita Lakes will make you smile. The final leg of single track for the loop is the Mardi Gras Trail complete with Mardi Gras beads and a welcoming downhill. Each loop ends with you passing the RFID antennas to capture your split. The parking area is right on the course, so feel free to setup your own pit stop without having to venture far away from the course. This course is marked really well. From Red plastic plates with the Scorpion logo to red and black flagging tape to neon green arrows and marking sprayed on the ground; we put a lot of effort to keep you on the right track so you only have to focus on running.
