Description:
Who is faster – human or horse? It’s anyone’s race at the first Steel City Man vs. Horse!
Modeled after similar race formats in the UK and Arizona, this is a simultaneous trail running race and horseback endurance race. Runners on foot and riders on horseback will toe the starting line together to see who can complete the course faster.
Location: Hillman State Park,
Distances for both runners and riders: 20k, 50k, 50M
This is a trail race and will be a mix of single track, gravel road, and grassy meadow. Runners, no experience with horses is necessary. All runners and riders will be required to attend a pre-race safety meeting to discuss trail etiquette.
The equestrian race is sanctioned by the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC).
Camping will be available for horses and human.
