Description: It's another opportunity to tour Knoxville's fabulous Urban Wilderness and a few new trails laid down since the last opportunity. We'll meet at Anderson South Head Start, then mosey across Sevierville Pike to the starting line on Centeroak. The course will enter the William Hastie Natural Area on the Redwood Trail and meander downhill in a clockwise circuit, reaching the bottom of the hill on Margaret. A left turn takes runners to the next uphill on the Hard Labor Trail and the Yellow Jacket Trail. An uphill bend on the Marj McLean trail leads to the high point of the trail as we make a brief road crossing on View Park Drive, then barrel downhill into Marie Myers Park. That section will be an out'n'back, leading to the turnaround at Sevierville Pike. Once finished with Marie Myers, the course recrosses View Park Drive, then juts down McLean and turns left onto the View Park Trail. At the parking lot/aid station, follow Sinkhole to Remedy Hill to Hardwood to Sidney Belle before bursting out of the woods on a screaming paved downhill leading to the finish line. Total distance should be roughly nine miles. A shorter 4½ mile course will also be offered, but no Grand Prix points will be awarded for it. Kids race will be an out and back on the Lost Chromosome trail totaling about a mile.
