Shawnee Peak Ultra Challenge
119 Mountain Road, Bridgton ME, 04090, USA
2021 Event Cancelled
Shawnee Peak Ultra Challenge is unlike any other mountain race found in Maine! With over 1,200ft of elevation gain in just 1 mile, this race will hurt… but what’s fun without a little pain? In this race, runners have either 2 or 6 hours to run as many two mile loops from the base of Shawnee Peak and back! This challenging course means business, as runners will run UP and DOWN a ski slope, over sections of rocks and steep incline/decline. The 2 mile loop has a slightly more gradual decline than the uphill route and will be marked with orange pin flags and white chalk. Aid stations supplied with water and snacks will be at the at the summit and at the base (start/finish line).
COVID
We plan to hold the event in person as envisioned on October 9th, 2021, although we will be incorporating a number of safety precautions for volunteers and runners, including a 200 participant cap. We will be closely monitoring CDC, local, and state guidelines, and will adjust as necessary, but we feel confident that this event will go forward as planned. Please see our Facebook page for more info.
Prize Pot:
Cash prizes will be given to the overall first male & female runners in the 6 hour event only (high school & college runners may be excluded from cash prizes due to eligibility, see your institution for more details). 25-50 runners: $126 ($63 split)
51-100 runners: $326 ($163 split)
