Description: Sap Run Scramble! Celebrate the dark depths of winter melting away as we share the source of our Good Energy, the maple syrup season at Embark Maple Farm, through our unique Last Person Standing style adventure! Frozen forests! Slippery sidehills! Rugged ravines! You'll run, err scramble, along the logging roads, deer trails and farm tracks we traverse while harvesting maple sap on our hilly Driftless Wisconsin farm each season to craft our Maple Energy. Complete one 5K lap per hour to continue on the adventure for as long as you can. Bring your climbing legs, as the elevation gain per lap hits ~1000ft ascent! Additionally you'll learn about the maple sap harvesting process, enjoy delicious trail snacks from local foodie businesses, and connect with the people and place that make the Driftless so dang special. Family and friends are encouraged as additional activities will be available, including live music, wood-fired pizzas, sugarhouse tours, and community hikes through the forest. We've held the Sap Run Scramble as a "choose-your-own-adventure-foodie-5k" since 2022, however this is the inaugural year for the additional Last Person Standing format. While this means we do not have results from past years to study, it does mean someone will set a record!
