Salento Trail Challenge is one of Colombia’s most iconic and prestigious trail running races, held in Salento, Quindío, in the heart of the Coffee Region. Each year it brings together more than 1,000 runners from all over the country, along with a growing community of international athletes, especially from Europe and North America.
The event offers several distances so that runners of all levels can participate, from those taking their first steps on the trails to experienced mountain athletes. The routes cross Andean mountains, cloud forests and coffee farms, with demanding climbs, technical descents and panoramic views of the Salento area. Some distances offer UTMB index points, which makes the race especially attractive for runners who are preparing for major international events.
More than a race, Salento Trail Challenge is a multi day experience that connects sport, tourism and local culture. Participants and their families can enjoy the colorful town of Salento, its gastronomy, music and traditional coffee culture. The event also has a strong social focus, supporting projects for local children and creating a positive impact on the community and the regional economy.
