Description:

Directly east of Northfield Vermont, lies a hidden gem of rolling single track, winding forest roads, and abandoned ski slopes on the flanks of Paine Mountain. With steep climbs and descents and incredible views, this series of forested trails make for some of the best trail running in Central VT!

All races start and finish at Norwich University’s Shaw Outdoor Center, and the courses take advantage of both the Shaw Center’s extensive mountain bike network and the Northfield Town Forest.

The Northfield Conservation Commission has been working with the town to purchase the summit of Paine Mountain. This race is a celebration of their efforts to maintain public access to Paine Mountain, and the trails that lead us there.
