Beautiful she may be, the Hut 2 Hut / The Archie courses are, quite simply, a bit brute-y. Australia’s toughest 100km mountain ultras, to be exact.

100km, 5800 metres of gain and high escarpment, technical ridge running make this without doubt Down Under’s toughest 100km event, one worth travelling south for. Ten peaks will be bagged with plenty of diving down to the valley floor before climbing back up to reach the roof of Victoria while immersing yourself in legendary High Country Hut folklore. Complete as a solo runner or in pairs over 1, 2, or three days.

Too much? Then try The Archie out for size: 55km, 2300m ascent – it looks easier on paper… maybe. And then there’s the 10km Bella on the Sunday.

And if you want to really be the King and Queen of the Mountain? Take on all three for the ultimate multiway mountain miler – 100km on Friday, 50km on Saturday and 10km dessert on Sunday for a total of 12 summits across the weekend.
