Oberod 5K Trail Run

Description: RUN FEST - One Day, Two Runs - All for a Great Cause! Benefitting Children & Families First. Do one or do both - either way YOU'RE helping kids in Delaware. Oberod 5K Trail Run (9am) - The OBEROD course is exactly 5 kilometers of off-road grass trails. This is one of the more challenging 5K courses on the east coast with its 400 foot elevation climbs, and rolling ranges. The start is a downhill 300 meters and the finish is on the plush green lawn of the backyard of the historic OBEROD mansion. Throughout the course, there are two foot bridges to cross, "pine tree alley" and a fast-finish half mile. Best footwear on this course is a spiked shoe but racing flats or running shoes will also work fine. Runners of all levels, and walkers, are encouraged to experience this beautiful property. Splatter Dash (12pm) - Start out as a blank canvas... end up as a colorful work of art, covered in a rainbow mix of beautiful colors! There will be 7 COLOR STATIONS along the route where you will be SPLATTERED in color and then a blast of color will greet you at the SPLATTER SPECTACLE FINISH! Create a team, or be an individual; Just come out and have fun! Course is approximately 1.5 miles of off-road grass trails with rolling ranges and some elevations.
