MissionCleanWater Westfield Ultra

Welcome to the sixth annual MissionCleanWater Westfield Ultra hosted at Tamaques Park in Westfield, NJ. Participants can register for a 3hr, 6hr, 9hr, 12hr, or 24hr event where you will try and complete as many loops around Tamaques Park as possible. One loop is .8 miles and you have the option to run on pavement or on gravel.

The race start and finish location and where participants can park are at the main parking lot next to the Tennis courts and playground. At that location are restrooms. Runners are welcome to place gear, coolers, and shade cover anywhere near the start location of their own supplies.

Who is MissionCleanWater?
MissionCleanWater is a nonprofit organization working to create lasting clean water solutions for underserved communities. Since 2017, we have helped provide reliable clean water access to more than 75,000 people through well rehabilitations, solar-powered water systems, local training, and ongoing monitoring and repair support.

Our work is built around the belief that clean water is more than a basic need. It is the foundation for health, safety, education, opportunity, and dignity. When a community has reliable access to clean water, children spend more time in school, families face fewer waterborne illnesses, women and girls have safer daily routines, and local communities have a stronger foundation to grow.

The Westfield Ultra is one of MissionCleanWater’s signature community events, bringing runners, families, volunteers, and supporters together for a day of endurance and impact. Every mile completed helps raise awareness and support for clean water programs that keep water flowing long after a project is completed.

By participating in the Westfield Ultra, runners are not just challenging themselves. They are helping turn movement into meaningful change for families, schools, health centers, and communities that deserve reliable access to clean drinking water.

Fundraising
This year, we are opening a fundraising component to the Westfield Ultra. For anyone who raises $500 towards our clean water projects, they will receive a full refund and guaranteed entry to any future races.

Race Breakdown
The start time is promptly at 9am. We suggest participants arrive before 8:30 so you can check in and drop off any necessary supplies. Participants can arrive earlier to claim a location for supplies. Our team will be setting up at 6:30 am

24 hour rules
The town of Westfield has been extremely nice in allowing us to host a 24-hour race at one of their parks. Here are some rules 24-hour participants have to follow and the extra support they can have:

1. At night, all runners must use a headlamp and wear a reflective vest.
2. ONLY 24-hour participants are allowed a tent which can only be set up close to sundown. Our volunteers can help you.
3. Your support teams must limit as much travel as possible at night time. Try and make any supply trips before the sun is down.
4. Quiet hours starting at 8 pm.

Support
Support Crew
Anyone is welcome to have their own support crew and bring any necessary supplies they would like. This can include your own shade canopies, tents, coolers, and food. You are welcome to have crew members with you for the duration of the event. Pacers are welcome.

Aid Station
At the start/finish line will be our aid station. Here we will have everything from typical snacks, prepared food, tons of ice, water, electrolytes, GI supplies, First Aid, hot weather gear, and volunteers ready if you need any emergency supplies. If you are completing the 3hr and 6hr event, please leave the prepared food for the 9hr, 12hr, and 24hr participants.
