Lizard Peak Scramble 10k/5k Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406 US

Description: This is a run and scramble to the summit of Lizard Peak and out to the blue waters of Lake Havasu. The 10k race will take runners from the start/finish to the summit, down a valley, around the mountain and out to Balanced Rock Cove where they will come face to face with the pristine blue waters of Lake Havasu, marking the halfway point. This course is a mix of single track, loose gravel and sandy washes. The majority of the elevation gain is found in the first mile with a short, but vertical rock wall scramble at .72 miles that will test participants agility, nerves and teamwork with Lizard Peak towering overhead. (Event Crew member at this location to assist as needed) Once at the infamous summit, runners may take a second to snap a pic and get a “peek” of the giant lizard rock formation 500 feet below or take in the 360° panoramic views of the city and blue waters of Lake Havasu before heading down. Terrain on the backside of Lizard Peak will zig zag down rocky switchbacks, consisting of loose gravel on descents. Buckle up!
