Description:

Looking for a challenge??
The Laramie Peak Endurance Challenge is a brutal 12-hour or 24-hour running/hiking event that is sure to push you to your mental and physical limits! There will also be an option to hike/Run the Larmaie peak trail just once.

Come and stay the weekend at the Friend Park Campground in the beautiful Laramie Range of Central Wyoming. The campground is well-kept and boasts typical Forest Service campground amenities.

A mission to support veterans
As a veteran, trail running and hiking has turned out to been more than just exercise. It has become an outlet for my mental stress, and a way to recharge my emotional batteries.

Knowing what trail running (and the trail community) can do for others, I would like to introduce the Warrior Trail Foundation as a partner for this event! https://warriortrail.org/

The Warrior Trail Foundation provides resources to support the 1% of our nation that volunteered to protect and defend. Veterans and their family members continue to fight every day to maximize their life and manage the challenges of loss of community, survivors guilt, physical disability, PTSD, or any number of other issues from their years of service to our nation.

WTF’s programs are specifically designed to employ trail running and fast-packing as a form of recreational therapy. To enhance the chance of success of this transformational journey, the foundation provides coaching and personal connections that are critical in building resilience.

Founded by a Combat Veteran with PTSD who discovered the benefits of trail running as part of the solution. Supported by research. It’s proven, it’s fun, it’s challenging, and it will change the way our warriors see themselves and their future.

Course Map
the climb from the trailhead to the turnaround at the top of the peak can be brutal for even the most seasoned mountain athletes. Over the next 4.5 miles you will become intimately familiar with roughly 2,800 vertical feet.

Slow and steady is the key here! You don’t need to be a literal mountain goat to reach the top, but it doesn’t hurt to atleast come prepared with enough training to know what pain and discomfort you might need to push through to make the summit.

Once you reach the top, don’t forget to look around and appreciate the kind of views you get at 10,200 feet of elevation.

Now all that’s left to do is turn around and head back down the mountain! Easy as that!
