Description:
-A 25 mile out and back on the wild and remote Kilkenny Ridge Trail in its entirety. Runners will run from South Pond Rec area in Stark NH 100% on beautiful and rugged singletrack trail through pristine boreal forests, past mountain ponds, and soaking in endless views from scenic vistas! Along the way you’ll be summiting two 4,000 ft peaks and a half dozen 3000 footers as well. There will be 15,000 ft of total ascent and descent. 25 milers will be shuttled to the southern terminus and will run north to South Pond Rec area.
Course Markings: This is not a marked course as you will be on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail. We have a link to download the GPS track which you need to download to your phone and/or watch. The trail is very well marked with signs so you will need to pay attention. Due to trying to keep the trail as natural as possible for the hikers we do not mark then course. Please study maps before running the course. We will have maps available at the BIB pickup. For the 50 mile runners you will be taking a right onto Route 2 and then a left onto Route 115 to get to the aid station and reversing to get back to the trail. We are not allowed to have an aid station at the trail head. Do not run through the golf course as they are having a tournament that day.
This course is wild and wooly so expect it to feel very remote. This is not an entry level course! Camping, Lodging, food and supplies: Nearby Gorham NH (30 minutes from the race start) Has numerous camping and lodging options plus food option and a Walmart 😉 There won’t be any camping at the Start/finish area. Sorry.
