Description: The Collegiate Running Association will be conducting their National Trail Championships during the Indiana Urban Wilderness Trail Run! A $6,000 prize money purse will be available for the top 5 men’s and women’s CRA members. Did you ever imagine that you could complete an entire 1/4 Marathon (just a bit longer than a 10k) completely on soft surfaces in the heart of downtown Indianapolis? We’ll be doing just that during this inaugural Indiana Urban Wilderness trail run! The course is an out & back loop that will have you running across grass, dirt & crushed limestone paths along the Fall Creek & White River corridors. While experienced trail runners will enjoy the change of pace offered by this course that puts you within sight of the downtown Indianapolis skyline, this event is a perfect introduction for runners & walkers that may be looking to experience soft surface racing for the first time. Along the way we will be sharing space with the wildlife that call urban Indianapolis home including beaver, fox, mink, great blue heron, red tail hawk, American kestrel & osprey. This is a perfect way to get up close and personal with our Indianapolis waterway habitats!
