The Himal Race is back. If you like your multi-stage race to hurt, this is for you. Long stages through awesomely brutal terrain.

If you know someone who ever went trekking in Nepal, then this is the kind of distance people might cover in four separate trips to Nepal. The Himala Race is brainchild of Bruno Poirier and friends. The style is raw and goes like this: carry your own stuff, travel far each day, know how to look after yourself, cross some crazy terrain that you would not normally associate with running, repeat for weeks at a time. Need points for your UTMB application. This should get you lifetime entry.

Last years Great Himal Race – all the way across Nepal was theirs. This race in comparison looks short!

It starts in Everest Base Camp, runs to Jiri on the old classic route, and then runs a lot of the “Great Himalaya Trail” routes, passing The Last Resort, then cross country to Helambu, Gosaikunda. This is already far enough, but it won’t stop. Then over Dhading, into the Manaslu Valley, complete that, then the substance of the Annapurna Circuit Trek route, and finally a stiff climb to the seldom visited Annapurna Base Camp West.
