There are some moderate up hills and equally energizing down hills. There could be some mud and wet areas as well as the usual natural hazards associated with a trail run. The course offers a moderate challenge overall. The course is well marked and there are course marshals at key points. There a 2 water stops along the way with water for both humans and dogs.
Top Overall Canine/Human Teams, age-group awards, and special awards in a number of different categories, most connected to the general theme of this event-the relationship between dogs and people. There are first place overall awards for the first male and female runner finishing without a dog, this is in addition to the top 3 overall awards, male and female “runners with dog” and the top 2 overall awards, male and female “walkers with dog”. We have age-group awards in 8 different tiers for runners (with or without a dog) and, new for 2018, age group awards for walkers! No duplication of awards, please. All these awards, as well as our very special tributes, the “Gulliver Rue Award” presented to the first Vizsla to finish, and the “Hobie Award”, presented to the family whose battle against canine cancer best exemplifies the spirit of “Gulliver’s Run” will be handed out. We also present the “Gulliver’s Challenge” trophy, a traveling trophy, which goes to the veterinary practice which contributes the top donation amount to “Gulliver’s Run” for 2018.
